Bessie Holley

Bessie Holley

Pharmacist

“I wish all my patients would ask, ‘Could you look at all my medications and discuss them in detail with me please?’ The answer is, ‘Yes!’”

Known in her church as “that pharmacist who sings in the choir,” Bessie Holley has been with FreseniusRx since 2003. She belongs to a women’s ministry at her church that sponsors an annual bazaar where the women give back to the community by using their gifts or talents. Bessie gives back by setting up a “Brown Bag Counseling” booth where she educates visitors on proper medication use, dosing, side effects and more.

Visitors to Fresenius Kidney Care clinics may be familiar with her face—Bessie has been featured on some of our pharmacy posters before! Bessie studied at the University of Tennessee, Memphis, and has been a pharmacist since 1997. When she’s not counseling patients or church members about their medications, Bessie loves spending time with her daughter Paris Francis, bowling, reading, singing and eating at every Hibachi grill she can find!

Bessie is a Merck award recipient and completed a 26-module curriculum in kidney disease through FreseniusRx’s partnership with the National Kidney Foundation and Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
